Transformative Practice

Transformative practice is sometimes used as a modern generic term for all of the practices described so far in this chapter. It's also useful for describing a greater breadth of practices, techniques, and views used in the context of everything from compulsory education, to addiction treatment, adult development, faith healing, etc. etc.

I want to highlight two points here:

  1. The pervasiveness of transformative practice, and its deeply intertwined relationship with extant cultures and institutions
  2. The complexity, depth, and richness of the domain, in contrast with the relative paucity both in the models and the phenomenology reported in the context of almost all secular transformative practice

Everybody's into transformative practice
